Foundations-the fundamentals of our Faith

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since I've blogged. We have finished our study on Spiritual Warfare and are getting into Foundations with several weeks about the Bible as our standard for belief, and God, as revealed in the Bible, to help us interpret our experiences of Him and learn to develop a relationship with God as He is, not as we wish He was.
I'm sure we've all experience relationships where we were either expected to be, or hoped to be different who we really were. Rather than trying to really get to know who was right there across the table from them, they (we) were more interested in fulfilling some fantasy date, reliving some failed relationship, or trying to justify past failures, when our best opportunity for relational growth was to listen to and try to perceive the person we were 2 feet from. I think that's the way we need to get to know God. Based on who the Bible has told us he is, as revealed in His Son, Jesus Christ, through Christ's Body, the Church, and intimate time with God in prayer. We need to learn, and learn to worship the God that is, the God that really exists, and not just our idea of what or who we think God should be.
